Is there a Specific type of Wifi Needed for the VividGro Smart Sensor and VividGro Smart Outlet to work?
If we had 4 – 4×4 foot fixtures and we chose to install them 2×2 which results in a 8′ x 8′ grid and we wanted to do Dimming what is the recommended Smart Sensor placement?
Given the one to one requirement it would be recommended to install each Smart Sensor directly underneath each of the 4’x4′ light fixtures to capture the highest density of measurements possible. In the Future we are exploring making it possible to have one Smart Sensor that was hung directly in the middle of the 4 fixtures with the Bottom of the Sensor positioned right at the top or just below the Canopy to get accurate measurements at the leaf level. – the other 3 “Dimming only Controls would be positioned very close to each of the 3 LED Drivers connected to the PWM wiring
No. By following the simple instructions that are on the rear of the package, Anyone can easily make 3 electrical connections without the use of any type of hand tools or soldering irons etc.
Note: Color Blind individuals may need assistance identifying the colors of the 6 wires in order to correctly make the right connections
Each Light would require its own Smart Sensor to provide dimming control. Today it is a one to one ratio. We are exploring different approaches that would allow one Smart Sensor to control a greater number of lights.
Today the Smart Sensor supports only PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) – future versions are anticipated to support both dimming interfaces
None of those are integrated into GroNet Home and as such will not be able to be automatically controlled as we tie automation capabilities into our GroNet Home Service offering.
The VividGro Smart Outlet automatically just works with the GroNet Home platform – Everything in your grow room is visible from one Application. It reliably provides the home grower , power status and consumption information per outlet.
It allows the grower to enable scheduled and/or On-Demand – on/off control of any electrical equipment in the growing environment – Fans, Humidifiers,Dehumidifiers, Heaters, AC, CO2 Generators etc etc etc….. Whatever you plugged in it. So if the Smart Sensor sends an Alert that there is an ISSUE
– All of it is accessible remotely so that the Grower is ENABLED to take appropriate action until they can get a person into the grow room….. Just another way to help keep the plants safe and growing
Smart Sensor - Density / Placement
How many Smart Sensors do I need to cover a 30×30 square foot area for Monitoring Temperature/Humidity and VPD , Light Status?
At least one is recommended for each individual Grow Area. (Clone, Veg, Flower, Processing) etc. They should be positioned in the Center of the Room , under the lights, suspended so that the BOTTOM of the Smart Sensor, is right at the top or just below the Canopy level to get accurate measurements at the leaf level if Growers plan to utilize the more accurate VPD measurement to assess plant transpiration.
Adding more sensors in greater density , allows measuring smaller and smaller microclimates within a single room 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 – Sensors could be added and if so distributed equidistant from one another to provide uniform coverage areas.
Also additional ones could be positioned ad-hoc in any places that are of interest to the Grower , perhaps anticipated problem areas – Light ingress, Cold or Hot Spots, poor Air circulation etc…..
We anticipate 1-4 Smart Sensors (especially if dimming) as a reasonable number that will be utilized in most home grow areas. However we have tested 20 Smart Sensors in a 10×10 foot room, over an extended period of time and found no interference issues or performance impairments.
No , The GroNet | Home App manages the process to get a new users account setup and Smart Sensor (s) and Smart Outlets added and properly configured – Once setup you can access them via Mobile Devices or Laptops/PC/Macs etc via the GroNet Website
